{"id":22,"date":"2010-11-30T15:07:24","date_gmt":"2010-11-30T06:07:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tamegoeswild.com\/running\/?p=22"},"modified":"2016-01-10T16:52:22","modified_gmt":"2016-01-10T07:52:22","slug":"the-art-of-running-meguro-elephant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/josephta.me\/en\/2010\/11\/the-art-of-running-meguro-elephant\/","title":{"rendered":"The Art of Running: Meguro Elephant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Important Elephant Notice: This Meguro Elephant has been superseded by the magnificent <a href=\"http:\/\/josephta.me\/2011\/08\/art-of-running-11km-baby-elephant-takes-a-drink-from-iidabashi-canal\/\">Iidabashi Elephant taking a drink from a canal<\/a> &#8211; so please check that out instead.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thank you.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>In a bid to distract myself from the psychological barriers I encounter when running over 12km, I&#8217;ve started a new project &#8211; <em>The Art of Running<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p>Rather than just running along rivers or to and from the local park, I plot a course that, once complete, will result in a GPS trace that paints the picture of an animal or other recognisable object. <\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve had this idea for some time now (and indeed, GPS art has been around ever since the invention of the technology), but it&#8217;s only now I need to start putting in longer distances that I find myself sufficiently motivated to carry it out.
