The Tokyo Marathon Project
It’s now 18 years since I took up running, and 17 years since I completed my first Tokyo Marathon.
Little did I know then how it would come to change my life.
Below you’ll find a selection of posts highlighting the technology I’ve used, and the adventures I’ve had as I’ve shared the experience first hand of running Japan’s biggest race.
Joseph's 17th annual live-streamed TOKYO MARATHON will take place on Sunday March 1st 2026.
In 2025, for the first time ever, I didn't stream the entire race - but just tried to for the last section (although the technology failed!)
It was an amazing experience - I shaved 50 minutes off my personal best!
So, in 2026, I'll do the same, and just live stream the last part live on Facebook from 12.45pm JST.
Saturday February 28th around 20:30-21:00 PST
Sunday March 1st 05:30-06:00 GMT/UTC
